That is an onion in the background - the real onion...
Almost the same size as Adrian's head.. ;-)

Went to New Forest Show today which is an annual agricultural show held for three days in Brockenhurst in Hampshire. It's a great family day out with much thing to do, learn and see by your own. See what I found there ..... ;-)

Silence???

Emmm...it has been too long now since my last post. Too quiet for almost a month plus. Being busy with work is the only good reason that put me away from here. Believe it or not, I've not hold my camera since early last month. Very unusual for me. But - owh well, that's what just happened.

I was away to few places within the U.K last month and just came back from Entebbe, Uganda last week. In fact, during the 'world cup explosion' in Kampala, I was there but in a different city. Thanks God, thing's are way fine in Entebbe beside security are tightened up and I'm ok too.

I'm now on holiday for a few weeks. Kids are demanding for their holiday adventures and looks like I'm going to have a busy holiday this time around. Hope I'll have a good rest before heading back to work. And I'm also looking for some opportunity for my photography adventures too... So stay in touch and thanks for visiting..

Barn Owl

One of the most highly protected flying creature in the UK and Ireland. They are on Schedule 1 of both Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 Order, therefore the bird, nests, eggs and young are fully protected at all time. One could get penalties up to £5,ooo and/or custodial sentences to any offences against this beautiful creatures.

Barn owls require rough grassland with a good populations of rodents especially voles - their main meals.. ;-). Field edges, watercourses and grass strips alongside woods provide ideal hunting habitat. That's where it gets it's name.... whenever there is an open field, there will also be an old barn. An in this old barn is where you can find them but watch out, they are protected by law when they are breeding.....

Hunting to photo-capture this beautiful creature take hell lots of courage. As you all know, they only hunt for their prey before dusk and around dawn... So, you have to be prepared wayyyy ahead..... ;-).. So good luck.....

Micheldever Bluebells - Revisit.

As I don't have anything planned out for this weekend, I thought of giving that lovely bluebells another try since this will be 2 weeks after my early season attempt. With hope the woods bed is more flourish with luxuriantly blue, I gear up again heading to Michealdever.

See, it never let me down.... As I stand, surrounded by this lovely bluebells, I remember to one famous quotes says "It's weird that photographers spend years or even a whole lifetime, trying to capture moments that added together, don't even amount to couple hours" ... and to me, this is one of those moments..... ;-)

Durdle Door II - Dorset

How I wish more people felt that photography was an adventure the same as life itself and felt that their individual feeling were worth expressing. To me, that make photography more exciting in nature.

The great hours of shooting early and late hours... Two golden hours somewhere between sunrise and sunset. Both are set with 60 diamond minutes. No reward is offered. They are gone forever.... and this beautiful sunset that was mistaken for a dawn.

South Down Way - Winchester

Initially, I did plan for a walk on Saturday in South Harting (on South Down Way to be exact) and Seven Sister in Sussex on Monday but due to the great British weather... hehehehe... I have to postpone all of those plan. So, last Saturday we all went to Popham Airfield for the Microlight Showcase and followed by a nature walk in Micheldever woods. It's a long weekend this week due to Monday bank holiday (today) but weather is still unpredictable. Nevertheless, we don't to make that as an excuse so I gear-up and head for a walk on South Down Way (western end - Winchester).

This walk climbs onto the downs, passing through beautiful open country side to the city of Winchester (old capital city of England). It's spring season now and as I described in my previous entry, if you are in the woods, you will be with the bluebells - and if out on a farmland, you will be presented with a huge carpet of bright vibrant yellow colour of oilseed rape.

To me, as I really enjoyed the colour of nature taking place and changing between seasons.... this is just absolutely amazing..... ;-)

Micheldever Wood Bluebells.

Mid spring in England and a good time to hunt for Bluebells. In fact, there is ain't any best place to be in this time around other than surrounded by Bluebells in the middle of English wood. The vibrant greens came from the new leaves on the tree, gave a huge impact over a gorgeous carpet of lovely blue flowers on the forest bed. The spectacular view of the wood is just speechless - and this is what I named it as "the annual rejuvenations of the woodland landscape". The vibrant nature colour of both is just complimented each other.

I was on my way back from Popham Airfield when I decided to 'detour' to the woods. It's one of the famous spots for her Bluebells. I was here at least 3 times for the last 2-3 weeks just for Bluebells. I think it's a bit late this year due to the 'unusual' cold winter season. After disappointing week one after another - here I am..... enjoying the early blossom of Bluebells in the middle of Micheldever woods. Believe it or not, this flower is officially protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act here in the U.K.

Emm... I guess, I'll be coming here again next week or so for the mid-season of this flower.... I just loved the colour...... ;-)

Beacon Hill - Hampshire.

It's starts with gloomy Sunday morning when I decided to stay at home. After a hefty - unhealthy big weekend breakfast, it even make me damn lazy to go for any activity... ha ha... ;-). It's like a tradition to us during the week days, everyone will try to be healthy with cereal, fresh milk, oat porridge, wholemeal bread and etc but when weekend come, it like a pay-back time to they tummy... go for those heavy and unhealthy stuff like Nasi Lemak, Roti Jala with chicken/beef curry to name a few. Looks like I'm blending 2 breakfast 'culture' huh? .... hahaha... So, in another word, we usually can't wait for weekend not because of the 2 rest day - but more for the 'sinful feast' :-). muhahahaha..... (Tapi nasi ambeng tak dapat nak buat beb... ikan masin bulu ayam tak de... takkan nak pki bulu ayam plak.... wakakakakaka)

Enough with the food thingy, as noon picks up it's luck, we decided to heads up to Beacon Hill near to Highclere Castle in Hampshire. It's a good hill accent and decent effort for couple of hours.

We stay up on the hill for about half an hour, enjoying a spectacular view over Hampshire farmland in Spring. Lovely! How I wish I can get some few square patches of bright yellow from oilseed rape flower, unfortunately, I a bit too early for that. I still manage to get the view but, not what I expected though.. Ohhh..well....
